#25onthe25th fundraiser gets unexpected response

The fundraiser Baton Rouge businesses organized for the families of law enforcement officials killed last week had a turnout larger than expected, according to The Greater Baton Rouge Business Report. For the fundraiser, bars and restaurants in the Baton Rouge area organized a donation of 25 percent of their sales for the officers’ families.

“A Monday for us is typically $2,500 (in gross revenues),” Mestizo’s owner Jim Urdiales said, according to the Business Report. “I went into this thinking if we could do $6,000 that would be great. We did $14,200. That is amazing.”
