Antique store The Pink Elephant to expand in Mid City

The Moroccan-themed Pink Elephant antique store is set to expand to a neighboring building that will add 3,000 square feet, according to a news release from the store. Currently the store has about 20 dealers, and the new space will allow for 15 more.

Both The Pink Elephant’s current space and the building it’s expanding into were built between the ’30s and ’40s.

“We love preserving the historic feel and atmosphere of these buildings that just can’t be duplicated with new construction,” said co-owner Lisa Pellissier in the release. “It’s like stepping back in time with a few modern touches like the purple polished concrete floors that create the sense of looking out into the galaxy.”

The Pink Elephant is located at 2648 Government Street.
