Art, Sports and Beer

After taking in its Leroy Neiman sports art exhibit, the LSU Museum of Modern Art welcomes guests to stay in past museum hours for its Museum After Dark program, featuring “LSU Sports Trivia Night.”

“It’s basically a chance to invite the whole community to come down to the museum and have a big party,” said Dr. Katie Pfohl, museum curator. “This is a really exciting event in the series.”

On Thursday, September 18, from 6-8 p.m. contestants will compete against each other in order to win prizes such as LSU autographed memorabilia along with door prizes. Also featured that evening will be special guests from LSU sports history.

“We’ve actually invited a number of really famous, important LSU athletes of the past many of who have gone to be pro football and baseball players to come and give their own trivia questions based on their careers at LSU,” said Pfohl. “So it’s going to be a fun chance for people who think they’re really rabid LSU sports fans to come and test their stuff.”

Sponsored by the Tin Roof Brewing Company and Heirloom Cuisine, this event also brings attendees a special beer tasting of five different brews with sports-themed gourmet food pairings to enjoy while testing their LSU sports trivia knowledge.

Tickets for the event are $45 for museum members and $55 for non-members. To purchase tickets, call the Museum Store at 225-389-7210. A limited number of tickets will be sold. Tickets are non-refundable
