Author and chef Holly Clegg will be the 2016 honoree of the Grace “Mama” Marino Lifetime Achievement Award, the Baton Rouge Epicurean Society announced earlier today at a press luncheon. The award honors one person every year who has “dedicated much of their life in service to the Baton Rouge community,” according to a news release.
This is the 10th anniversary of the award, and Clegg will receive the honor on Aug. 25 at an annual awards dinner at L’Auberge Casino.
Clegg is well-known for her “trim&TERRIFIC” cookbook series. She has also made appearances on TV shows such as “NBC Weekend Today Show” and “The 700 Club,” according to her website.
Clegg, who lives in Baton Rouge, partially credits the city with her success.
“Baton Rouge put me on the national map,” she said.
