Avant-Garde Blanchard

As a leasing consultant at The District Apartment Homes located on Perkins Road, Mikelyn Blanchard knows that first impressions are the best impressions. While selling a luxurious lifestyle, she must also look the part. This fashion plate always looks impeccable in the front office, from maxi dresses to flowing kimono jackets. Mikelyn tells readers how to achieve her edgy style.

DIG: How would you describe your personal style?

Mikelyn Blanchard: I would describe my personal style as edgy. I like to mix things up that people wouldn’t normally picture going together, more often than not it ends up looking great! I am always experimenting with new styles.

DIG: What in your closet can you not live without?

MB: I cannot survive without the pair of black-wedged ‘Booties’ in my closet. These are by far the most comfortable yet fashionable shoes, and they go with everything. Every woman should own a pair.

DIG: What’s the greatest piece of fashion advice you have ever received?

MB: The greatest fashion advice I have ever received would definitely have to be never wear sneakers with skinny jeans. Just as silly as it sounds, it looks even more ridiculous! Ladies that do this get yourself a nice comfy cute pair of flats and it will make all the difference fashion wise.

DIG: What are your favorite ways to accessorize?

MB: My favorite way to accessorize would have to be jewelry.  I love to wear multiple different length necklaces stacked to give the outfit a nice pop, and I can’t forget my watch to match the outfit.

DIG: How would you dress for a spring beach vacation?

MB: For a spring break beach vacation, I picture myself wearing a long flowy maxi skirt paired with a bikini and a button-down denim shirt tied at the bottom. Of course, I can’t forget a floppy hat to look comfortable, casual, and still cute.
