Rodrigo Munoz is a petroleum engineering student, but there’s more to the 23-year-old than his studies.
Munoz moved to the United States from Mexico City with his family when he was just a year old, and he grew up in Houston.
“We would go back every time we had some sort of vacation, Christmas, Thanksgiving, stuff like that,” Munoz said. “I guess you could say half the time I was here, half the time I was there because we’d always go back for the holidays.”
He came to LSU just a year and a half ago to study petroleum engineering, and when he finishes school he’d like to get a job back in Houston, but he would be fine working far away from his home as well.
“If I have to go out of the country, I’m completely fine with that too,” he said. “It’s nothing new to me, so I’m up for the challenge.”
You don’t have to love soccer as much as Munoz in order to date him, but you should know it’s a large part of his life. One of his favorite hobbies is playing the sport, and his favorite club team to watch is Barcelona.
“I look for someone who’s definitely smart and funny…[who has] the same interests and hobbies as me, that’s something that interests me.”
A date with Munoz would likely be dinner downtown followed by going out for a few drinks, likely at Draft House. Munoz is a beer connoisseur, and his favorite local brew is Abita’s new Peach Lager. His favorite from his hometown of Houston is Saint Arnold.
“Down here I’ve fallen in love with Abita, that stuff’s my favorite down here,” Munoz said.
Munoz likes to take walks on the levee at the end of dates. Conversation on dates often turns to movies and TV shows, so you might catch Munoz talking about the last show he binged on Netflix, “Shameless.”
More than anything, Munoz said it’s important that readers know what he studies and what he likes to do for fun.
