Bayou Country Superfest, a three-day country music festival previously held in LSU’s Tiger Stadium, is moving locations next year, according to a festival news release. The festival will now be held in the New Orleans Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The move is due to renovations scheduled for Tiger Stadium.
“We are excited to announce that the Louisiana Memorial Day Weekend tradition that is Bayou Country Superfest is going under the Dome in New Orleans! When we started the Bayou Country Superfest, our goal was to create one of the great country music celebrations in America and grow it into an annual holiday tradition for Louisiana,” said producer and director of Bayou Country Superfest Quint Davis in the release. “The large scale stadium-type festival we all loved in Tiger Stadium, which is not available to host the event, will make a triumphant move to the only other facility in the state that equals Tiger Stadium as a world renowned sports and entertainment venue—the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.”
Next year’s festival, scheduled for Memorial Day weekend, will feature a kick-off outdoor evening concert celebration on Friday in Champions Square and two nights of country music performances on Friday and Saturday. The lineup will be announced on Dec. 1.
