Uber rides may be hard to come by this weekend.
To protest a rate cut, a group of Uber drivers is turning off the popular ride app this weekend and asking other drivers to do so as well, according to the Greater Baton Rouge Business Report.
“We’re hoping to get enough drivers to do it to create a surge in Baton Rouge, which will get the customers’ attention,” said Uber driver and strike organizer Leslie Hollier, according to The Business Report. “It will also give a message to Uber that these rate cuts are not acceptable in Baton Rouge.”
The protest is planned for 5 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday.
