Capital Area Transit System is introducing a new tool aimed at helping riders track buses more easily.
According to the Greater Baton Rouge Business Report, CATS is unveiling a new texting system aimed at non-smartphone users to show them a list of scheduled bus arrivals near them. Bus stop IDs will be on placards placed at bus stops, and customers can text that ID to a phone number and receive a list of buses scheduled for that stop.
“This is something CATS has been working hard to implement for many months. After careful planning and testing, we are really happy to begin rolling out this feature,” said CATS CEO Bob Mirabito in a statement, according to The Business Report.
