Construction for new River Center library branch to begin soon

Construction will soon begin on a new downtown Baton Rouge library, according to The Greater Baton Rouge Business Report. On Wednesday, the Baton Rouge Metro Council approved a $14.6 million bid for the new River Center branch.

“This has been an ongoing process for the last seven years, and it’s gone through a lot of things,” said Downtown Development District Executive Director Davis Rhorer, according to The Business Report. “But I am very pleased we have finally gotten here. This is a signature piece of architecture that will benefit the entire community.”
