Style Unleashed celebrated its first year at Nail Finiti nail salon located on Seigen Lane. In celebration, owner Michelle West allowed local fashionista Ariel DeVille to pick out any item of merchandise at her trunk show to pose in for this DIG fashion feature. The only stipulation is that the look had to reflect Ariel’s personal style. It was a girl’s paradise—a shopping spree with no buyer’s remorse. The garment was given back, but not before Michelle styled Ariel for a fun fashion feature. Ariel explains her personal style and why she chose the alluring Lady in Red Romper.
DIG: How would you describe your personal style?
ARIEL DEVILLE: I can’t label myself to one exact particular style. I mostly dress based on the occasion, event, and theme.
DIG: Who/What do you look to for style inspiration?
AD: I mostly follow fashion bloggers: my current favorite, Brighton Keller, a LA native (www.brightontheday.com). Her style is classy, stylish, and comfortable.
DIG: What are some key pieces you will wear this summer?
AD: My summer essentials are my gold Jack Rogers sandals & classic aviator sunglasses. I have a weakness for sunglasses. Trends I see popular this summer are subtle ‘70s, shirt dresses, fresh floral and bold prints/stripes. Anything that will keep me cool and still looking chic in the LA heat.
DIG: What items do you generally gravitate to in stores?
AD: I gravitate toward more fitted items of clothing. I also always make sure I will wear the clothes more than once before I purchase them, which is why I tend to stay away from fads.
DIG: Why did you gravitate towards the Lady in Red Romper?
AD: Red is eye catching. The romper is such a bold, sexy piece that would pair well for a wedding or fun night out on the town.
