The downtown branch of the East Baton Rouge Parish Library System has been temporarily moved to the Kress building on Third Street, The Advocate reports. The River Center branch of the library is closed for construction of a new building.
While the temporary location will have a limited collection of materials, it will have Wi-Fi and computers for members to access.
“We are delighted to have found a conveniently located site to serve as our temporary River Center Branch over the next couple of years. Although it’s a relatively small space, we think that with its access to technology, collections and services, we can continue to offer high quality support to the people who need and rely on a library presence in this part of the parish,” said library director Spencer Watts, according to The Advocate.
The temporary library is located at 447 Third St. and is now open.
