French Truck Coffee, a micro-roaster that got its start in 2012, is set to open downtown in 2017, The Advocate reports. French Truck Coffee owner Geoffrey Meeker will roast beans and operate a café in the old Southern Camera Service building at 2978 Government Street.
The company prides itself on roasting small batches of high quality coffee beans.
“You don’t want a grilled cheese sandwich that has been sitting out for a couple of hours and reheated when you order it,” Meeker said, according to The Advocate. “Coffee to me is the same way. We roast beans when we are ready to sell them, so you get the freshest and best tasting cup of coffee.”
French Truck Coffee is based in New Orleans.
