The Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank suffered damage due to last August’s flooding, but now the organization is moving back into its offices, according to a report by WBRZ. Workers moved back into their administrative offices today as part of the food bank’s official grand reopening.
Though the food bank was able to operate out of its warehouse following the flood, this is the first time its offices have been open since last August.
The food bank will hold a food distribution in honor of the anniversary of the August flood this Saturday at the Baton Rouge Police Department Headquarters on Airline Highway. The organization will partner with Smithfield Foods for the event, which will run from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m.
