This Baton Rouge producer phenom dropped his highly-anticipated EP titled Remembrance via Software Recordings earlier this week. He has been hailed by many for his sophisticated compositions as well as his ability to evoke certain emotions in a style that is truly distinct. You can head over to pitchfork.com to catch an advance stream, or purchase the vinyl at www.amoeba.com.
Rae Sremmurd – No Type
Besides their name being Ear Drummers backwards, these guys have been working with Mike Will Made It exclusively. Such an addicting melody the way the vocals are over Mike Will’s production. Best party / BBQ track of the rest of 2014 for sure
Prada Mane – Soar Loser ft. Bladee
Dark beat, defeating lyrics oohh this song expresses so much frustration. This song gives me the sensation of the tears you get when you fight but you try to hold them back. Almost something to listen to vent to. Plus it sounds more like Yeezus before Rick Rubin took it over.
Arca – Thievery
Still speaking on the Yeezus tip, one of the main producers, Arca, just put out a track from his new album. It’s like a Tim Burton dancehall song, i don’t really know how to explain it, and on that note it really doesn’t deserved to be labeled. If you were a fan of LP1 by FKA Twigs, you should definitely be excited for Arca’s next release.
Chief Keef – Fool Ya
Long time Chief Keef fan, and he’s still mercilessly putting out rare cuts. The best thing about him are his lyrics because they can remind you he’s still 19. “My beemer color suwoo Ravioli / Remember when I used to eat Ravioli?”
Rome Fortune – FriendsMaybe (ft. ILOVEMAKONNEN!)
First, the beat sounds like Herbie Hancock grew up in Atlanta. Then the track is really made by ILOVEMAKONNEN’s hook “How you ton trust in us when you can’t believe in me? You listen to your friends maybe more than you listen to me.” A song about anybody who goes with what squad says over their opinion. Have faith!
