You may know Lagniappe Records as the cute little independent record store downtown, but did you know that they also own their own record label? Their first record, a 7” by hard surf rockers The Chambers, was released on Tuesday, March 17, officially launching the latest extension of this multi-faceted operation. Lagniappe owner and accomplished musician Tess Brunet produced the record with help from Manship Theatre audio engineer John Tulley. Recorded at the Legendary Noise Floor in BR, the record consists of “Touchless Automatic” on Side A and “Bottoms of My Feet” on Side B.
In celebration of the label launch and The Chambers’ new material, a Lagniappe is throwing a record release party on March 21 at 7:30 pm. The event is $7 and it will feature the garage rock band Loudness War. If you can’t make the premiere, be sure to pick up a copy of the “Touchless Automatic” single because it too is only $7. The record will be available at select record stores around the United States, and — of course Lagniappe Records. For more information check out lagniapperecords.com or visit their Facebook page.
