If you watch “Vice” on HBO this Friday, you may catch a glimpse of LSU’s stately oaks.
In a 15 minute segment on the documentary series, “Vice” interviews Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards and LSU President F. King Alexander, The Advocate reports. LSU is being featured because of the recent cuts to higher education, some of the worst in the nation. The episode, titled “Student Debt.” airs at 11 p.m.
“I have a constitutional obligation to deliver a balanced budget, and the cuts have to come from somewhere,” Edwards said in his interview, according to The Advocate. “So the cuts are coming at the expense of higher education and also at the expense of students’ (tuition dollars) in order to keep those universities afloat.”
