Out of 50 states and the District of Columbia, Louisiana is one of the worst states to have a baby, according to a new study by WalletHub. The only state ranked below Louisiana is Mississippi.
The study compared states in the categories of delivery costs, health care accessibility and baby friendliness and measured aspects like annual infant care costs and number of pediatricians per capita.
Louisiana’s delivery budget ranked at 16, while the state’s health care ranked at 50 and its baby friendliness came in at 26.
