Louisiana Rising concert raises more than $800,000 for flood relief

The concert dubbed “Louisiana Rising: A Benefit Concert for Flood Relief” raised more than $800,000 for the American Red Cross Flood Relief Fund, according to the Raycom Media website. The concert, which featured Better Than Ezra, Aaron Neville, Hunter Hayes, Rebirth Brass Band and more, was presented by the media company on Sept. 5. Harry Connick, Jr. and Randy Jackson hosted the concert.

“We are thrilled with the results so far,” says Pat LaPlatney, president and CEO of Raycom Media, according to The Greater Baton Rouge Business Report. “This was a tremendous effort to raise awareness and money to help the people of south Louisiana recover.”
