Louisiana saw 36 percent increase in travel in 2015, according to release

International travel to Louisiana increased by 36 percent in 2015, according to a news release from the Office of the Lieutenant Governor. This puts the state’s growth among the best in the United States.

Much of this increase in inbound volume was in travel to New Orleans, Louisiana’s top tourism draw.

“This is such exciting news for our state as we are working toward growing international visitation after an extremely successful IPW conference held in New Orleans in June,” said Lieutenant Governor Nungesser, according to the release. “My goal is to see this number continue to increase steadily over the next several years, and that we will continue to market ourselves as an exciting destination for international visitors to explore and experience.”
