“Kevin and Bert,” a short film made by Brandon Coffee, won first prize in the animation or special effects category at the American Advertising Federation Awards this year, The Daily Reveille reports. The film was the LSU graduate’s thesis project and focuses on a dating app for monsters, a play on some people’s real life horror stories on dating apps.
“It’s kind of weird to see student work up there with professional work,” Coffee said, according to The Daily Reveille. “When you look at the student work up against those big-name advertising agencies, there’s an understanding that even though it’s not as polished… one or two students can still do really high caliber work.”
