LSU’s Manship School of Mass Communication’s Reilly Center for Media & Public Affairs and LSU Student Government are teaming up to host an election night event for students, according to a University Relations news release. Political experts and members of LSU’s faculty will discuss the ins and outs of the election with students, such as how media organizations “call elections.”
“Politics is largely a communal activity, best expressed and experienced in the company of others. That’s why I enjoy not just watching the election returns, but also celebrating election night with friends and colleagues,” said political historian and Manship Chair in Journalism Bob Mann. “Election night events like this one are fun for their suspense and drama, but also for the peaceful transfer of power they imply.”
The event will be in the Live Oak Lounge in the LSU Student Union at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 8.
