LSU Baseball coach Paul Mainieri, who’s previously said that he wants to stay at LSU for eight more years, has been contacted by The University of Texas, which has a head coaching vacancy, The Advocate reports. A reporter for D1baseball.com said via Twitter that Mainieri had interviewed with the school.

The vacancy comes after former University of Texas head coach Augie Garrido left after 20 seasons with the Longhorns, according to The Advocate.
