Mike VI, LSU’s live mascot, made his second trip to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center Wednesday to receive what’s expected to be his only round of radiation, The Advocate reports. He was previously at the center over the weekend for a run-through of the procedure.
Mike was returned to his night house Wednesday night to recuperate from the treatment.
The radiation won’t cure LSU’s live mascot. Some of the cancer cells are expected to resume growth, but the radiation treatment could add one or two years to the tiger’s life.
