BRQ, a new barbecue restaurant with a farm-to-table approach, is set to open on Jefferson Highway in spring 2017, according to a news release from the restaurant.
The menu at the restaurant will also feature seafood items such as fresh boiled shrimp and crawfish seasonally. All meat will be smoked with applewood or hickory, and the rubs and sauces for the food will be made in-house. The restaurant will also offer catering services.
“This is not your typical BBQ joint” said BRQ chef Justin Ferguson, in the release. “We are featuring regional favorites from the Carolinas, Tennessee, Texas and Missouri.”
Ferguson returned home to Baton Rouge from Chicago to open the restaurant.
BRQ will be located at 10423 Jefferson Hwy.
