Only clear bags to be allowed at LSU sporting events

Starting this year, you’ll only be able to take clear bags into Tiger Stadium due to a new policy.

During the 2016-17 academic year, only clear bags smaller than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches or one gallon plastic bags will be permitted at LSU sporting events, according to The Greater Baton Rouge Business Report. The change comes in an effort to maintain safety at the school’s athletic events.

“Providing a safe environment for those in attendance at LSU Athletic events is our top priority,” said LSU Police Capt. Marshall Waters, according to The Business Report. “Safety and security practices are constantly evolving and the clear bag policy is becoming the standard in spectator sport venues.”

The exceptions? Small clutch purses will still be allowed, as well as some diaper bags.
