Paella. Omelettes. Brisket Sandwiches. The list of dishes that have been featured in 2015 could go on for about 50 more individuals items, but together, these items paint a full picture.
What Baton Rouge has been able to achieve in the culinary world is deserving of attention and respect. We’ve seen a renaissance of new restaurants; places like City Pork coming to town and Roux 61 opening their doors are just the tip of the iceberg big enough to make your head spin.
Choosing a dish to feature each week isn’t easy. There are contenders vying for our affection every day and picking them all would fill every inch of every page week in and week out.
What we’ve tried to do with this section is highlight some of this city’s tastiest meals that should get the attention that we believe they deserve. Whether they’re places tucked away in strip malls across town or ones that LSU students can’t get enough of, the dishes seen in this recap exemplify just how diverse and creative this city really is in the culinary realm.
