President Barack Obama made a telephone call to offer his condolences to the family of Alton Sterling, a black Baton Rouge man who was shot and killed by police last week, The Associated Press reports. President Obama made the call aboard Air Force One on his way to Dallas following the death of five police officers during a protest in the city. He also made a call to the family of Philando Castile, a black man who was killed by police in Minnesota last week.
