The search for a new live tiger mascot continues.

Since Mike VI’s death last October, the school has been searching for Mike VII. Now, LSU President F. King Alexander says the school aims to have a new tiger by September, according to a report from The Advocate. He says the school has some leads, but the tiger must be young and physically fit.

In the meantime, the university is finishing up renovations to its campus tiger habitat. Those are expected to be completed by Aug. 10, according to the report.
