Rep. Kenny Havard presented a piece of “joke legislation” earlier this week, and yesterday, he said he won’t apologize for the action, The Advocate reports. The legislation would’ve limited the age of exotic dancers to the ages of 21-28 years old and put a cap on the dancers’ weight at 160 pounds.
“I don’t know if I’ll ever apologize for being politically incorrect. It’s just not in my nature,” Havard said in an afternoon news conference, according to The Advocate. “Political correctness, in my opinion has ruined the country, and it looks like it’s ruining the state now.”
Gov. John Bel Edwards deemed Havard’s actions “unfortunate,” according to The Advocate.
