With finals right around the corner, LSU’s Campus Life decided—what better way to take a little stress away than with a little roller-skating?
DIG caught up with Craig Marcus, assistant director of LSU Campus Life, who said the idea for this event generated from students on the Student Activities Board. Marcus explained that he wanted to challenge the students on the activities board to think of activities that had not been done on campus before but would also spark students’ interest.
“When the Student Activities Board was trying to come up with some new programs for this year, they thought it would be fun and unique to bring roller skating to campus,” Marcus said. “Actually, we went back and forth on rather we should do roller-skating or ice-skating – we thought [roller skating] would be a little better. We just wanted to bring a bunch of students out and have a good time on the Parade Grounds. It’s something unique and different.”
Accompanied with music by DJ Swiger, the event brought tons of students ready for laughs, food and occasional falls.
