Ashley McClure was the bright spot on a rainy day in her colorful, expertly styled outfit. This gorgeous blue-eyed blonde not only wears fashion with flair and models from time to time, but also designs and makes her own bracelets. A stylist at Virgo Boutique, Ashley brings her casual ahead-of-the-trend style to many shoppers.

Interview:

1. How do you describe your style?

My style is pretty casual. I’m definitely drawn to bright colors, I tend to wear them a lot. I also love checking out the latest trends and tailoring them to my look so I can stay a few steps ahead of what’s coming in fashion. When I make my bracelets, I’m always thinking to the season ahead and what colors will work for fall, winter, holidays etc. Right now, purple and gold are in mind!

2. Where do you shop?

Virgo Boutique! Even before I worked there, it was my go-to. The staff is really helpful and the selection is so unique. There’s only a certain number of every size, so you don’t have to worry about seeing a look over and over.

3. What is your favorite women’s trend for summer?

I love maxis! Dresses and skirts in bright colors that will bring out your tan are my favorite right now. I’m also loving the boho chic trend, especially anything sporting fringe and crochet.

4. What is your favorite men’s trend for summer?

Lately, I’m really into the colored short for guys paired with a v-neck and topsiders. It’s a twist on a classically preppy look that works on almost any guy.

Dapper is the perfect word to describe Brian McNabb, the District Director for Congressman Bill Cassidy. Typically styled in one of his flawlessly tailored suits, he can be seen at events, meetings, and on the campaign trial always looking the part of the sleek and classically handsome professional.

Interview:

1. How do you describe your style?

I’m all business during the week. I’m in and out of meetings all day and attending events, so I’m typically in a suit so that I may present myself in a professional manner. However, on weekends I’m all about laid back and super casual. Comfort is key.

2. What is something every man should have in his closet?

A tailored suit. It’s an investment, but very much worth it when you think about the wear you’ll get out of a high-quality custom-made suit. When you look good and feel comfortable at the same time, it bolsters your confidence and that’s pretty priceless. That, and a set of golf clubs!

3. Where do you shop in Baton Rouge?

Martinez Custom Clothier is the best.

4. What is your favorite thing to see a woman in?

A classic cocktail dress. Something that will subtly highlights a woman’s confidence and individual beauty.

Fashion Chatter with Mickey:

There is not better season than summer to wear bright colors! Ashley shares a great suggestion this week, wearing colors that accentuate the glow of sun-kissed summer skin is a way to change up your look. While some colors are notorious for working with certain hair and skin tones, like blondes in cerulean blue and redheads in emerald green, you shouldn’t shy away from any hues. Start small with a purse, shoe, or hat to add a pop of color to explore which shades will work in your wardrobe.
