Street Style: Date Night vs. Girl’s Night

By Yuwa Vosper

Restaurant IPO is located in Downtown Baton Rouge and offers delicious Southern dishes mixed with global cuisine. Not only is the food tasty and flavorful, but the restaurant also provides a great ambiance for any date or the start to a girl’s night on the town. Featured in these photos, Trey Allen and Caroline Cosgrove-Richard dine and sip cocktails including the Strawberry Mojito and Pequeno Tacos. Emilie Herbert and Ashley Barbier relax and drink exquisitely prepared cocktails called the Juniper Berry Martini and the Pomegranate Cucumber Basil Martini, all located in the upstairs private dining space that features a rooftop view overlooking the river.

Q.What is your personal style?
A. I like to think of my personal style as a modern-day Audrey Hepburn, which is a more sophisticated and timeless style. I try to go for looks that are simple and classic, but at the same time not outdated. I think the best way for me to get this look is by accessorizing with a watch, bracelets, and fun necklaces. It gives me a feeling of sophistication while still feeling youthful. I tend to avoid the trendier items because just as quickly as they came into style, they can go out of style.

 Q. How would you dress for a girl’s night out?
A. I would wear something that’s comfortable to dance and have fun. I would go for a pair of black pants and a flirty top. Comfortable heels or flats are best for me because I can still dance the night away and my feet won’t be killing me. I would bring a small bag that has a strap so I don’t have to tote my purse around, but I don’t have to worry about holding onto a clutch either. I would complete the look with chunky bracelets or a big necklace.

 Q. How would you dress for a casual date?
 A. I absolutely love wearing dresses! I would wear a feminine dress with tights and a pair of boots. I may even substitute my favorite strand of pearls for a scarf to complete the look.
 Q. How would you dress for a fancy dinner date?
A. I love any excuse to get dressed up! I would wear a nicely tailored dress and my favorite pair of heels. For fancy dinner dates, I feel like less is more, so I wouldn’t wear too many accessories. I would finish the look with a simple pair of earrings and an eye-catching clutch.

Q. How would you describe your personal style?

A. Well since I’m always wearing scrubs for work, I like to dress up when I get the opportunity. I wear a button-down shirt, blazer, dark jeans, and usually boots. I call it my ‘Texas’ proper look.

Q. How would you dress for a casual date?

A. If it’s a casual date, you don’t want to come across as trying too hard but also don’t want to look improperly dressed. I would wear a simple V-neck shirt and jeans with boots or comfortable dress shoes.

Q. How would you dress for a fancy dinner date?

A. Dressing fancy for a guy is simple. Just put on a suit that fits properly, button-down shirt, and tie. Then, make sure any accessories like a watch, cuff links, and tie clip coordinate with your belt and shoes. Don’t get too carried away, remember it’s a simple and timeless look.

A. I like to wear a cute top with jeans and a pair of wedges, which is casual but still cute.

Q. How would you dress for a casual date?

A.  I would wear a skirt with some fun accessories. A cute skirt is flirty but not too dressy.

Q. How would you dress for a fancy dinner date?

A. I would put on a nice dress that enhances my favorite parts of my body with a classic pair of pumps. Got to dress to impress.
