Lauren Scioneaux (left) is a Mass Communications major with an ultra-feminine flair who loves to dress up. This LSU student shows off her fun and flirty style on campus and around town in her favorite maxi dresses, skirts, rompers, and accessories in great colors and prints that are all perfect for summer.

Interview:

1. How do you describe your style?

My style is definitely girly. I really like to dress up, try out different trends, and just have fun with what I wear.

2. What’s your favorite trend for summer?

Definitely maxis! Skirts and dresses, I love them. They’re so comfortable and simple, but still really cute and chic.

3. Who is your style inspiration?

I really like Lauren Conrad. I follow her on Instagram because I like to see her outfits and how she styles herself. She has really laid-back style, but always looks together and beautiful.

4. What fashion rule do you always follow?

I stick to the “no white after Labor Day” rule, which is a classic one. Also, just don’t be tacky!

Kelsi is great at mixing stylish trends with chic staples, and not afraid to experiment with color to keep her look effortless and timeless.

Interview:

1. How do you describe your style?

I think my style is pretty classic. I like timeless clothing and accessories. I do like to have some bright colors in my closet as well.

2. What is your must-have for summer?

I would say jean shorts. You can wear them with so many different styles of tops and with so many colors. They’re definitely a summer staple.

3. Where do you shop in Baton Rouge?

Some of my favorites are Frock Candy, Vertage, and Merci Beaucoup.

4. Who is your style inspiration?

I really like Emma Watson’s style. She’s polished and sophisticated, but still looks her age. She’s not matronly even though she has classic style.

Fashion Chatter with Mickey:

Lauren and Kelsi show off different styles, but both maintain an age-appropriate look. With certain fashion and beauty trends, like rompers and heavy eyeliner, it’s easy to look younger or older than you actually are. To keep your style from looking too young in a romper or baby doll dress, add chic accessories like a great pair of subdue wedges, a blazer, or a statement necklace. To keep your style from aging you, try staples like a button down shirt or pencil skirt in a bright color and interesting material.
