In a list of growth numbers released by the Bureau of Economic Analysis, the Baton Rouge metro area came in at No. 17 when it comes to the fastest growing economies in the United States, the Associated Press reports. Due to the finance, insurance and real estate sectors combined with the increase from nondurable goods, the city’s economy grew 5.4 percent in 2015.

Metro areas in the U.S. grew by an average of 2.5 percent in 2015, according to the AP.
