Dig Baton Rouge

The Dish: Fleming’s Prime Burger

My goal in life is to consume the best food in Baton Rouge without breaking the bank, so trying a happy hour at one of the fine dining experiences in Baton Rouge is a must. Fleming’s Steakhouse offers some of the best cuts of meat in the city, but a hidden gem among all of these gorgeous steaks is their Prime Burger. This steakhouse-style burger is cooked to perfection – rare, well-done, or anywhere in between…it’s up to you – and covered in your choice of cheese and slices of peppered bacon. My burger was cooked medium with blue cheese, which added a tangy and creamy dimension to the tender juiciness of the meat and the salty crunch of the pepper bacon. Put that next to a pile of double-cut french fries or thick, sweet fried onion rings, and you have bliss on a bun. What makes this meal even better is that it is a steal for the low price of $6 from the happy hour menu. Every week day as part of their 5-6-7 special, Fleming’s has select food and drinks from their menu for only $6 a piece from 5 to 7 pm, so leave the office hungry and head straight for Fleming’s.
