Don’t be fooled by the French name, Fleur de Lis delivers the best Roman style pizza this side of the Mississippi River.
Step into the powder pink building and you feel as if you’ve walked onto a movie set straight out of the 50s – that is, until you’re hit by the thick, delicious aroma that will stay with your clothes long after you’ve left.
A former cocktail lounge in the early 1940s, the family run pizzeria has now become famous for its ironically ‘square’ pizzas. For thirteen dollars, the Round the World special includes anchovy, Italian sausage, mushrooms, pepperoni, salami, and onions. Your taste buds will thank you for shelling out the few extra dollars compared to other fast food pizza chains nearby. Also be sure to save room for a beer (or two), as they’re served in tiny glasses, making your hands feel big and your heart warm.
Oh, and bring some quarters for the old school jukebox which houses an iconic playlist unchanged since their doors first opened.
