Besides making good beer the Resignation Brewery, based in Austin Texas, is dedicated to fostering personal connections between people, and not the kind you make on Facebook. I’m talking the kind of connection you make over a cold pint glass of the KCCO Gold Lager, surrounded by laughing faces and the sounds of good music. It’s often joked that alcohol is a “social lubricant,” but this brand is the first time I have seen that concept embraced so wholeheartedly.
The Gold Lager itself is a beautifully clean beer with light honey color, ivory head and a great amount of carbonation. It’s light and thin, making it easy to drink at a crawfish boil, over wings while watching a game, or just for meeting friends after a long day at work. But just because it’s light on your stomach does not mean its a weak beer. It has a nice flavor of bread and honey with just a smidge of hops for balance, and drinking one on an empty stomach is enough to do the job – be sure to enjoy it with friends and food! This is definitely something you ought to bring along for your next tailgate or backyard cookout.
