Former LSU football player Tyrann Mathieu has committed $1 million to the Tiger Athletic Foundation, according to lsusports.net. The donation will benefit the LSU Football Operation Center and establish an endowed scholarship.
Mathieu was honored at Saturday’s game against Alabama.
“I am grateful to be in a position to help student-athletes by providing financial assistance by way of scholarships to LSU hopefuls,” Mathieu said, according to lsusports.net. “It is my hope that my donation will assist students who may not be able to afford a college education on their own. It’s important for me to give back to Louisiana and create positive change in the community.”
Mathieu currently plays for the Arizona Cardinals.
