Ravneet and Bhuvan met when they both accepted jobs at the same Engineering firm in 2012. Even though their paths crossed at orientation, they weren’t really acquainted until a company cook-off; Bhuvan joined Ravneet’s team to compete with their Indian dishes, and the rest is history.
After three years of dating, Bhuvan asked Ravneet’s family to help him plan the ultimate surprise proposal. Having her family “visit” Ravneet and distracting her with dinner, Bhuvan decorated the patio of her home with a curtain of string lights and roses. The path leading from her door was covered in petals and as she stepped onto the dark patio, lights began to twinkle, their favorite song played, and Bhuvan got down on his knee to ask Ravneet if she would marry him.
The couple decided to go with a traditional Sikh wedding for their ceremony. Bhuvan being from a part of India that practices Hinduism, and Ravneet Sikhism, it was a simple solution since both have very different celebrations and traditions for weddings.
Leading up to their wedding day, there were a week’s worth of ceremonies to prepare the couple for marriage. On the wedding day, the groom arrived in style on horseback with his family, groomsmen and friends dancing in front of him.
