Location: Baton Rouge Marriott

Miranda and Roderick grew up living only five minutes away from each other. They even attended the same church. Somehow, their paths had never crossed. That was until one day when a mutual friend realized the two just had to meet. It was instant sparks.

For the proposal, Roderick worked in secret to get Miranda to the Perkins Rowe shopping plaza. Once there, he had her name displayed on the giant screen in front of Cinemark and brought in a saxophone player, who played “Never Felt This Way” by Brian McKnight. This was a sweet little inside joke between the two since the song is used on the show “Martin” when he proposes to Gina. Miranda’s answer (Yes, of course!) was met with a round of applause and shouts from the crowd of friends, family, and a few random onlookers.

Miranda is a true DIYer and was so excited to start planning the couple’s glamorous New Year’s Eve wedding. She made everything from the decorations and centerpieces, to the bridesmaids’ headpieces for their Great Gatsby themed wedding. Guests kept with the theme, many of them dressing the part with flapper dresses, feathers and fedoras.

To merge their families together, Miranda and Roderick gave each other’s children gifts. Roderick gave Miranda’s daughter a ring and Miranda gave her new son a bracelet to express their love and complete the blending of their family.
