Every bundt cake that leaves Creative Crumbs Cakery carries a bigger plan inside it. The licensed home bakery serves Prairieville, Baton Rouge, Denham Springs and nearby communities, and each sale goes toward a future storefront built to train and employ young adults with special needs.
## A Bakery With a Mission
The founder's story is personal. The site explains that raising a son with exceptionalities showed her how few inclusive job opportunities exist locally. In 2021 she set out to create a bakery where young adults of all abilities could learn a trade, build confidence and share their talents.
The bakery is upfront that it is not hiring yet. For now it runs from home, and orders, reviews and shares all help move the storefront closer.
## What's in the Oven
The style here is homemade flavor over fondant showpieces, finished with whipped piping, sprinkles and fun toppers. Bundt cakes come in regular flavors like cream cheese, 7 Up and sour cream, plus filled specialty versions such as coconut pecan, carrot and Biscoff cookie butter. Six-inch bundts start at $15 and feed four to six, while 10-inch cakes start at $40.
Mini loaf cakes are a signature, topped with cream cheese icing in flavors like Oreo Explosion, Banana Bliss, Butter Pecan Coconut and Lemon Delight. The menu also lists a Banana Foster cake layered with banana pudding and Biscoff, chewy fudge brownies, sheet cakes and cookies in flavors like banana pudding and oatmeal.
## Ordering for the Holidays
With Thanksgiving on Nov. 26, now is a smart time to reach out. Orders go through the website's request form, by phone at 225-297-6585 or by email, and every order needs at least 48 hours of notice. The team takes orders Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. Local delivery is available, and you can also catch the bakery at pop-ups and vendor markets around Baton Rouge and Ascension Parish.
A holiday dessert that also helps build a more inclusive workplace is a sweet deal.
