Holiday card season starts earlier than most people expect, and The Royal Standard has already put a date on the calendar. Santa Photos 2026 takes place Saturday, Nov. 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the store on Perkins Road near Highland.
## How the Santa sessions work
The Christmas setting goes up in the event space inside The Crown Bistro, the cafe attached to the 16016 Perkins Road store. A professional photographer handles the shots. This year the store is taking reservations only, and walk-ins will not be accepted.
Families pick a time slot through Eventbrite when they check out. Each session costs $38 plus tax and fees, and the store emails three to five digital images from that session within two weeks. Slots are shared with other families, so arrive inside your window; the store says it cannot photograph anyone early. If you want individual photos of each child plus a sibling shot, you need a ticket for each one. Refunds are handled through Eventbrite before the deadline listed on the event page.
## A shop worth browsing while you wait
The Royal Standard is a Louisiana-born home decor and gift chain with two Baton Rouge locations. The Perkins near Highland store is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. A second store sits at 2877 Perkins Road near the Overpass, open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
Both carry seasonal Christmas and Thanksgiving collections, and the company offers in-house monogramming and custom upholstery. The Crown Bistro serves lunch Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with brunch on weekends during the same hours, so a photo session can roll into a midday meal without moving the car.
## Plan ahead
Reservations are open now through the events link on The Royal Standard's website. Questions about the photo day go to the store's events contact listed on the ticket page.
