Early shift on the Airline Highway side of town? The Dough House opens at 6 a.m. every day, and its dough is made from scratch each morning for a lineup of sweet and savory kolaches, breakfast tacos, cinnamon rolls and more. The shop opened in summer 2021 as the Airline location of The Kolache Kitchen and took the name The Dough House in November 2024.
Kolaches, Savory and Sweet
Ronnie's Cajun Boudin kolache, smoked on pecan wood with no cheese, is listed as the shop's top seller at $4.09. Other savory picks include:
The Little Sausage and Cheese: the classic pig-in-a-blanket style, $3.38, or a spicy version with jalapeño
Patton's hot sausage mixed with American cheese, $4.08
Ham and Swiss or bacon cheesy, $4.09 each
Egg kolaches with bacon, sausage or house-made chorizo, $6.97
On the sweet side, apple, blueberry and strawberry kolaches are topped with graham cracker bits, and cheese versions use a from-scratch cream cheese with a cheesecake base. A large cinnamon roll is $5.49.
Tacos, Plates and Sandwiches
Breakfast tacos come on 6-inch soft tortillas with scrambled eggs and cheese, starting at $3.25 for egg and cheese, with bacon, house-made sausage, chorizo, steak, shrimp and shredded potato options. Breakfast is served open to close. Lunch adds brisket, pork, chicken, shrimp and steak tacos, plus sandwiches like a Cuban and a BBQ brisket sandwich on French bread. You can also take home a 16-ounce mason jar of the house salsa or the sweet and tangy house sauce.
Feeding the Office
Party trays are built for meetings and holiday mornings. The small assorted tray mixes egg kolaches, sausage and bacon kolaches, breakfast tacos, fruit kolaches and cinnamon rolls, and a large version doubles it. Egg kolache trays come by the dozen or two dozen.
