The Red Stick Farmers Market is hosting a back-to-school bash on August 9 from 8 am to noon to begin the new school year. Enjoy family fun, delicious fresh food from local vendors, and live music while supporting shops from our area.

August is here, and with it comes the start of a new semester for many in Baton Rouge. Whether you’re starting your first or last semester at LSU or you have littles in middle and high school, this family-friendly event is a great way to kick things off.

Attendees can expect live music by Ashley Orlando while browsing the various booths. The East Baton Rouge Parish Library will have a sprinter van parked where you can pick up reusable bags and free school supplies.

Feeling a little anxious about the start of the school year? Our Lady of the Lake is hosting a mindfulness and wellbeing station to help you discover tools and tips to help you and your students start the year off strong.

In addition to the back-to-school stations, of course, enjoy all your usual favorite local things at the market.
