Some weeknights call for a margarita and a band, not a reservation and a dress code. Pedro's Tacos & Tequila Bar, tucked just off Siegen Lane on Andrea Drive, has built its evenings around both.

The music

Live music plays every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. That timing works for an after-work crowd: grab a table early, order a round and stay through the set without a late night. The restaurant stays open until 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, so there's room for one more round after the band packs up.

The deals

Margaritas are 2-for-1 every day from 2 to 6 p.m., and on Wednesdays the 2-for-1 runs all day. Monday brings chicken or steak fajitas for $13.99. Bring a friend and the happy hour math gets easy.

What to drink

The bar menu leans on tequila and mezcal. The premium margarita is made with Maestro Dobel tequila and orange cognac, and most margaritas come in 12, 27 or 38 oz. sizes, starting at $9.99. Flavors run from mango and strawberry to a pineapple-jalapeno version made with house-infused tequila. If mezcal is more your speed, the Tamarindo Mezcal mixes Vida mezcal with tamarind puree and agave for $9.99. The restaurant bills its muddled lemon drop as legendary, and there's a blueberry lemon drop martini made with house-infused vodka.

Coming for lunch instead?

The lunch menu runs Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with combination plates, puff tacos, lunch enchiladas and fajitas.
