Somebody in every family volunteers to host Thanksgiving and then quietly panics around Nov. 15. If that's you this year, a few Baton Rouge kitchens are ready to take the turkey off your hands, as long as you order on time.

Cheesecake Bistro by Copeland's

The Bluebonnet Boulevard restaurant (6171 Bluebonnet Blvd.) is offering two routes. Its Thanksgiving Feast Package runs $179 and is built to feed six to eight people: one entrée, two sides, a quart of Cajun gravy and a dozen buttermilk biscuits, with seasonal desserts available as add-ons.

If you'd rather build your own spread, the à la carte menu starts with Cajun Fried Turkey, served hot or cold, and lets you add sides plus Copeland's standbys like Crawfish Pasta, Crabcake & Shrimp Alfredo and Eggplant Pirogue. Orders go through CopelandsFeast.com (choose the Baton Rouge location), need 48 hours' notice, and can be picked up anytime from Nov. 9 through Nov. 26, Thanksgiving Day included.

Juban's

The Perkins Road restaurant (3739 Perkins Road) is doing a Thanksgiving to-go menu with pickup on Nov. 24 and 25. Everything comes cold, and it has to be picked up before the holiday itself. Get your order in before Nov. 20, when Juban's stops taking them.

Would rather not do dishes at all? Juban's is also hosting a Thanksgiving Day brunch on Nov. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a special holiday menu. Reservations are recommended; call 225-346-8422.

Portobello's Grill

Portobello's has a Thanksgiving To Go menu that leans fully into Louisiana comfort: chicken and sausage or seafood gumbo, butternut squash and shrimp bisque, a whole crawfish cheesecake, wild mushroom bread pudding, sweet potato casserole and Chef Peter's grandfather's oyster dressing. Desserts include fig and pecan pie and white chocolate bread pudding. Orders are taken by phone, so call the Bocage location (225-923-3222) or George O'Neal (225-756-2220) for pricing and pickup details.

Pick your kitchen, mark the deadline on the fridge calendar, and save your energy for the Thanksgiving leftovers debate.
