Miss Scarlet, in the conservatory, with the candlestick? You'll have a chance to find out downtown this month.
Clue – Live On Stage comes to the Raising Cane's River Center Theatre, 275 St. Louis Street, on Saturday, Oct. 24. The show is based on the classic board game and the 1985 cult film, and it puts that mansion full of suspicious guests on a live stage.
For a lot of us, Clue was a rainy-day staple long before it was a movie. The film turned the game into a comedy with a famously tangled ending, and the stage version leans into the same mix of mystery and laughs. Expect the familiar names, like Colonel Mustard and Miss Scarlet, plus a story that keeps you guessing until the final scene.
Timing works in its favor, too. Oct. 24 is LSU's road game at Auburn, which kicks off at 11 a.m. Central, so you can watch the Tigers and still make it downtown for curtain.
A few tips for theater night:
Check the time on your ticket. Listings don't agree on the start time, so go by what your ticket says.
Make it a downtown evening. The River Center sits a short walk from restaurants on Third Street, so dinner before the show is easy.
Bring a fellow detective. Half the fun is comparing theories at intermission.
Tickets are available through the River Center's event listing. Theater crowds tend to show up for familiar titles, so don't wait too long to pick your seats.
Grab a friend, dust off your best guesses and head downtown on the 24th. Just don't go wandering into the library alone.
