If you are looking for a Mardi Gras activity that is actually fun and not just another thing on your calendar, the King Cake Classes at Eloise Market and Cakery are it.

This class is part baking class, part party, and all Mardi Gras. You get to learn how to make a king cake completely from scratch, starting with rolling out your own dough, adding the cinnamon sugar filling, and learning how king cakes rise and bake. Everything is hands on, easy to follow, and set up so you can actually leave knowing how to do it again at home.

I had such a good time during this class. From the moment we started working with the dough, it felt fun and relaxed, not intimidating at all. Staff members walk you through every step in a way that makes you feel confident and capable, even if you have never baked a king cake before. By the end, I truly felt like a real deal baker.

While the king cakes are proofing, the fun does not stop. The break turns into a bingo game with friends and prizes, which makes the time fly by and keeps the energy high. Bring your own drinks and snacks, settle in, and enjoy the experience because it feels more like a Mardi Gras gathering than a class.

Once the king cakes are baked, it is time to decorate them and box them up to take home. All supplies are included, along with a box and board, so you leave with a king cake you made yourself and the confidence to go home and do it all again on your own. If you have never tasted a freshly baked king cake, I truly feel bad for you because I am convinced it just changed my life.

There are multiple King Cake Classes happening throughout February 2026, so if you missed one date, there are plenty more opportunities to attend. It is a perfect idea for a girls night, a fun date, or a group outing during Mardi Gras season.

If you love king cake, learning something new, and having a genuinely good time while doing it, this is one you do not want to miss.
