If you haven’t made your way to Court to Table yet, consider this your official nudge. Baton Rouge finally has a place where you can dink all day, eat incredibly well, and settle in for a full afternoon that somehow turns into night.

Located on Burbank Drive, Court to Table was created by a crew of self proclaimed picklers and fun havers who saw the sport taking over everywhere. Friends were playing. Parents were playing. Kids were playing. Instead of just joining the wave, they decided to build something bigger right here at home.

The Dream Team behind it includes Clay Furr, Gordon McKernan, Ozzie Fernandez, Bob Barton, and Destin Thibodeaux. With strong backgrounds in business and hospitality, their goal was clear. Create a space where people can eat, play, gather, and actually want to stay awhile.

And they nailed it.

Court to Table is family friendly, high energy, and welcoming whether you are a seasoned player or holding a paddle for the first time. There is live music, seasonal events, and now crawfish is officially on the schedule every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Yes, all weekend long. Which means you can rally on the court and then rally around a table piled high with boiled crawfish. Baton Rouge behavior at its finest.

Now let’s talk Lent because this menu deserves attention.

The LA Catfish Croquettes with herb aioli are crispy, flavorful, and the perfect way to kick things off. The Gulf Crab Beignets with mascarpone, beer battered and served with remoulade, bring that rich Louisiana creativity that feels indulgent but still right on theme for the season.

The Brown Butter Scallops with marinated cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, and focaccia are elegant and balanced, giving you something a little elevated while still feeling approachable.

If you are craving classics, you have options. Fried Catfish Entrée. Catfish Acadian. LA Fried Catfish. Fried Shrimp Po Boy. A Soft Shell Handheld served on bread from St. Bruno Bread Co.. There is even a Grilled Shrimp Mango Salad that feels bright and fresh but still completely satisfying.

Court to Table has managed to create more than a pickleball facility. It is a community hub. It is families teaching kids how to serve. It is friends laughing between matches. It is live music playing in the background while crawfish hits the table.

During Lent and all season long, this is the place to gather, eat well, and maybe discover you are more competitive than you thought.

Game on Baton Rouge.
